EXAM PREP
AP Spanish Language
Students strengthen the three modes of communication (interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational) while developing a deeper understanding of the three Ps of culture: products, practices, and perspectives. They build stronger reading, listening, writing, and speaking skills and learn how to approach AP expectations and scoring rubrics so they can show what they know more effectively on the exam.
Special attention is given to the argumentative essay, helping students develop a clear thesis, organize their ideas, use sources well, and strengthen their written Spanish. Preparation for the course project, including the Project Presentation and Project Q&A, supports students in organizing their research, presenting with greater confidence, responding thoughtfully to questions, and understanding what is needed for a strong AP score.
Conversational Spanish
Practical instruction for adults who want to communicate more naturally and confidently in Spanish, whether for travel, work, cultural connection, or personal enrichment. Lessons focus on real conversation and everyday language, and can also explore richer topics such as literature, cinema, cuisine, and cultural life, so communication feels genuine and connected to the Spanish-speaking world.

EXAM PREP
AP Spanish Literature
Students deepen their understanding of the 38 required works and the different sections of the exam. They learn to recognize and analyze literary devices, themes, genres, movements, and historical and cultural contexts, while making meaningful connections among texts. Practice includes both the multiple-choice section and the four free-response questions: Text Explanation, Text and Art Comparison, Analysis of a Single Text, and Text Comparison. Students also learn how the scoring rubrics work, so they understand what readers are looking for and how to shape their responses for a stronger score. Along the way, they grow more confident expressing complex ideas in Spanish and learn how to build clear, well-supported literary arguments using relevant textual evidence, approaching the exam with accuracy, insight, and greater confidence under timed conditions.
Conversational Italian
Beginner-friendly instruction in practical Italian, with space to explore Italy’s rich culture, food, traditions, and everyday life. Lessons draw on lived experience in Italy and on the perspective of someone who learned the language as an adult, helping students start communicating with greater ease for travel, conversation, and a genuine feel for the language and the culture behind it.
EXAM PREP
IB Spanish B
Students receive targeted support with the five IB Spanish B themes (Identities, Experiences, Human ingenuity, Social organization, and Sharing the planet) while strengthening vocabulary, grammar, reading and listening comprehension, writing, and speaking. They also prepare specifically for Paper 1, Paper 2, and the Internal Oral Assessment, gaining a clearer understanding of IB expectations while developing greater fluency, accuracy, and confidence in Spanish.
Support is available for both Standard Level and Higher Level, with extra attention at HL to the broader language demands and the literature component. Along the way, students deepen their cultural understanding and learn to communicate more effectively in real situations.
Conversational Brazilian Portuguese
Beginner-friendly instruction in practical Brazilian Portuguese, with space to explore Brazil’s vibrant culture, music, traditions, and everyday life.
